AIA Commends CMS for Phasing in MSP Reporting Requirements

Washington, DC, October 3, 2011 ? The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced late last week that it will begin phasing in the implementation of the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) mandatory reporting requirements for property-casualty insurers for liability claims that do not involve on-going medical responsibility. CMS had previously issued a delay in November 2010 which was set to expire on January 1, 2012.
